Changes to our Webmail
We have received a great amount of feedback from you about features you would like added to our webmail service. We have already added many of the features you have suggested, as we continue to evolve the service using your input.
The latest features we have added are:
- You are now able to sort on the Read/Unread column
- External POP accounts that you have added through webmail (in Mail Settings under the POP tab) will now be checked for new mail automatically at the same time as your account with us
- Contacts can now be dragged into and out of groups in the Standard inteface
- You can choose between plain text and HTML email composition
- The add contact group and add folder buttons have been replaced by a pair of more intuitive icons.
Good Morning - Wow! I didn't trust my eyes when I saw the "Plain Text" button this morning. Great - I thought... But of course it doesn't work correctly: Paragraphs (after pushing "ENTER") are not displayed by a line break, but just by a jump of the cursor that looks like a tab... (They are treated as paragraphs but not displayed as such.)
1. Please fix the "paragraph" display issue in the plain text editor.
2. Please use a serif font for plain text messages, like Courier!
3. Use a serif font also for displaying incoming plain text messages. It's very annoying to have them displayed in your sans serif font.
I haven't checked the other improvements you mentioned, I hope they work correctly.
4. Please automate the mail check altogether. Why do I have to push the button at all?
5. Congratulations: You finally seem to have fixed the time-stamp-issue in the Standard interface. Times of incoming and outgoing messages are now displayed correctly, yeah!
6. The session expiration issue seems to be better now as well (since yesterday), it was really bad on Monday (Jan 28), when I lost composed emails as well.
In order not to stop the great amount of feedback and to remind you of what I am still missing in Webmail:
7. Display more than 50 mails per screen (make it 1000 or don't limit it at all...)
8. Navigating to a certain group of emails in one folder not just by moving forward 50 at a time (very cumbersome if you have several 1000s of emails in one folder) - simply do it as it was before!
9. I still have over 100 messages with the incorrect Dec 6, 2007 date. But I have given up hope on those.
Ok, I have to acknowledge that I can see a slight improvement, too slow, too late. Keep on working on it!!! And give me a refund for about 1.5 years of really bad service (that is still not back to what it used to be.)
Don't disappoint me again.

Um, WHERE is this mystery format picker in the email composition window? Not seeing it.

Jen, above the "To" line, next to "Show Attachment(s)", it says "Plain Text" (at least in the webmail standard interface)... Good luck.

I'd like to add to my list:
10. When forwarding a message or replying to a message in webmail I would like it to cite the header information (subject, date & time, complete To and CC information!). This is important information I often need when handling my emails.
If it's there and I don't need it in my reply or my forwarding, I can delete it myself.
11. Since the header info ("more detail" button") is not cited I tried to copy and paste it, unfortunately this information cannot be selected to be copied (neither can the header info in the separate window be selected). Very annoying.
12. I like the preview pane, but I also very much liked the old interface in which I could open several messages in several new windows so that I could see them all at once. I would like to have that back.
Ross & JonC, wouldn't it be a great idea to have a table on this site where you collect all the improvement needs / change requests you are provided with and comment on the implementation status - for all of us to see, so that we don't have to bother you with the same issues over and over again?!
(And please don't refer me to the customer service online tool, don't even get me started on that...)
Regards,
FedUp

Thanks, but a bunch of things still need fixing:
--Freeze on login
--Sessions timing out before the page even loads (can we PLEASE have a way to stipulate session expiration time?
Thanks for the tip RE format.
